Portugal: Beer production, sales drop in 2020
Portugal beer sales dropped by 15% in 2020 due to the pandemic restrictions, but exports increased by 9%, the Executive Digest reported on August 5 citing the Portugal Brewers Association.
The nations brewers produced a total of 659 mln litres last year, 7.3% down versus 2019.
Domestic sales dropped by 15% to 469 mln litres, the Association said.
Beer exports totalled 194 mln litres, up 9% versus 2019, mostly thanks to reopening of markets in the second half of 2020.
